Projects

Since GreenTechNA launched in September 2024, we’ve experienced strong traction and a steadily growing demand for our services. This has led to a variety of exciting projects, assignments, and partnerships, including:

  • Representing a Canadian-based BECCS (Bioenergy, Carbon Capture & Storage) developer at the Inaugural BECCS Leadership Summit in October 2024 in Banff, Alberta. We assisted with sales and business development activities.
  • Supporting a multinational Danish company with a North American market entry study. This study laid the groundwork for a high-level leadership decision on whether and how to enter the North American market for low-carbon district energy.
  • Partnering with Vitalis, a local CO2-based industrial-sized heat pump supplier (https://www.vitalis.ca/), to support sales and business development efforts during the International District Energy Association Campus Energy Conference in Boston from February 2-6, 2025. Vitalis specializes in designing and manufacturing CO2-based industrial-sized heat pumps for low-carbon district energy systems across North America and beyond. Our collaboration generated multiple leads at the conference, and GreenTechNA continues to assist Vitalis in securing orders and advancing business development activities.
  • Serving as a Research and Analysis Assistant for a Vancouver Island-based university on a project aimed at scaling up energy generation by renewable energy cooperatives and communities.
  • Securing a longer-term agreement for low-carbon district energy construction management advisory services with a large Canadian-based construction company.

Additional Commitments:

  • In September 2024, GreenTechNA gave a presentation at Simon Fraser University (SFU) in Vancouver to a class of fourth-year Political Science graduate students. The presentation focused on the fundamentals of the development of low-carbon district energy systems in Denmark and highlighted the crucial role that co-op ownership has played in fostering its development and innovation.
  • On April 11th, 2025, GreenTechNA delivered a presentation to the Clean Energy Research Group (CERG) at SFU. This group is led by Professor of Political Science at SFU, Mr. Anil (Andy) Hira. The presentation focused on how Low Carbon District Energy Systems (LCDES) can boost the green transition, economy, and high-skilled job creation locally. With high-level insights into policy frameworks and technological advancements, the presentation highlighted the multifaceted benefits of LCDES (district heating and district cooling) in building sustainable and energy-efficient communities and made a compelling case for their more widespread adoption as a resilient and adaptable approach to urban energy management.
